Take Me Out Tonight

Developed this b/w roll today, random snapshots from recent times featuring mostly Petra and Vicki. London life!

Pre-drinks at my flat post handing in essay. Desperate need for a night out. Vicki and Sis:

I think she was demonstrating the size of something phallic.

Petra and Vicki:

Rob is retarted.

Petra had some trouble in the toilet so I offered some light in the form of a flash attached to a camera.

It's been raining like MAD recently. Cycled over to Petra's in the rain for a healthy vegetarian meal that she cooked me (since she turned me vegetarian two weeks ago). Got there completely soaked and she dressed me up in her legging things. Fashion statement?

Vegetarian Spag Bol is actually really nice.

Jesus I love this picture.

Our candle-lit dinner felt much more romantic than this image depicts it to be.

Sunday at the Diner (free coffee refills)

Monday morning rush hour on the tube after pulling an all-nighter or close to it. Bleargh.

Putting up our work for the assessment. Blue-tac and double sided tape? Loverly.

Petra and Maxwellll.

Shot all of that crap with a LCA camera, T-max 400 film. Self developed and scanned.

"Last Winter"

These images are my final three I've chosen to use for my term 1 uni project 'how photography relates to reality'. I slept about 30 minutes last night due to abuse of free coffee refills at the diner. So forgive my fragmented thoughts. In these images I choose to explore themes of personal sexuality, by playing with the truth and memories of my past and altering minor details to create new stories. By merging in my experimentation with mediums and losing the image through translation, I incorporate the flaws of our mind and the flaw of the ‘reality’ of the image itself, and I produce a series of images that give a version of the truth I might rather have. The final three images I have chosen are key memories of past relationships, but with both minor and major alterations to create a new reality. The images were digitally captured, shown through a TV screen and re-photographed with colour negative film. This was then scanned and printed again. I was interested in exploring how if I present these images as my story they may automatically be perceived as being real. These moments never did exist, but because I created them solely for these images they have existed.

Last winter with Petra. The one below doesn't really fit the concept but I like it anyhoo.

Josh Friend Pt. 1

I met Josh a few weeks ago when him and Jono were doing video-interviews on young and creative people in London, which I was fortunate enough to be a part of. Turns out he is a musician and a very talented one at that! Check out his homepage @ www.joshfriend.co.uk.

Anyhoo we got to doing some portraits around Hoxton Square and Rivington Street. The sun came out to play.
